The Institute of Biology and Centre at the University of Cologne is Germany is currently accepting applications for a postdoc position in 2019. This position is part of the EU funded project “Mech­Evo-Insect” which aims at a mechanistic and quantitative understanding of the transition between different mouth-part classes in insects using state-of-the-art workflows for shape characterisation and biomechanical analysis. Project details: Being a post-doc position, the applicant principal­ly can develop his own research initiative within this project framework. Therefore, a particular emphasis will be placed on the own ideas of the applicant and how these can be studied (ideally using a combination of both the post-docs’ expertise and the expertise of the workgroup).
